International Celebrities on Wellness

Here at Peace At Soul, we're all about whole-body health. This means focusing not just on physical (bodily) health, but wellness of the mind and spirit as well. Today, we thought we'd go to the celebs for some inspiration. Let's see what advice they have to give.

HEALTHY BODY

Meghan Markle - Treat food like medicine

According to Prince Harry's soon-to-be wife, Meghan Markle, diet choices should always be made with your body in mind. She advocates putting things into your body that are nutritious and would make you feel good, emphasizing the importance of the mind-body connection. She thinks that food should be treated like medicine, eating fruits and vegetables to give herself a boost during stressful times.

Jennifer Aniston - Healthier swaps

The Friends star does not believe in overly strict restriction. She does in fact eat her favorite comfort foods...but, with healthier ingredients. Aniston tries to maintain a balanced diet by using ingredient substitutes so that she can enjoy her favorite foods without the guilt. For example, she uses zucchini and eggplant in place of pasta in lasagna. She also makes sure to work out regularly, and practices yoga as well.

HEALTHY MIND

Will Smith - Be delusional

The Fresh Prince of Bel Air star believes that it is okay to be delusional. He thinks that if you want  something different to happen, you have to believe that it can. “I think that there’s a certain delusional quality that all successful people have to have.” Will believes this is necessary to break through barriers of being overly realistic, and that pushing past pragmatism is the first step to success. “I believe that I can create whatever I want to create. The first step, before anybody else in the world believes it is you have to believe it.”

Ellen DeGeneres - Be open-minded

Ellen's advice is simple:
"Be open to learning new lessons, even if they contradict the lessons you learned yesterday"

HEALTHY SOUL

Jim Carrey - Be in a Loving Place

When asked about his religious beliefs, the well-known comedic actor's answer was enlightening: “I’m a Buddhist, I’m a Christian, I’m a Muslim… I am whatever you want me to be. It all comes down to whether you are in a loving place or an unloving place. When you are with me, you can’t help but be happy.”

Oprah - Follow Your Dreams

The iconic talk show host had some very valuable advice. “Do the work that comes from the soul of you,” she maintains. “The key to fulfillment, success, and contentment in life is aligning your personality with what your soul came to do...when you can use your personality to serve what that thing is, you can be successful”. She believes in promoting the authenticity of oneself by following your own passions and working on your own interior self. This, she says, is where the most wonderful experiences of her life have come from.

HEALTHY YOU

Michelle Obama - Holistic health

The well admired former US first lady leaves us with advice that aligns perfectly with our goals here at Peace At Soul: holistic health. She maintains that health is multifaceted and that being in good health means being in a positive physical, mental and emotional state of being.

  5. I love the responses of all especially Will Smith. I use to think it wasn't okay or good I should say, to think things that hasn't happened yet realistically.....but as he said tho, " a certain delusional quality that all successful people have to have."
