5 (More) Tips for a Better Morning

Seems like you guys have been building some great "houses", because I've gotten loads of positive feedback from my first Tips for a Better Morning post. Sooooo, I've decided to write a continuation of the first five tips, to really wrap up your morning routine and help you achieve your best day possible. Here are five more tips for that morning boost.

6. Always have breakfast
Carissa Gan
Some people, especially those trying to lose weight, think that skipping breakfast is the way to go. However, eating a balanced breakfast actually helps control your appetite throughout the day, which helps to manage weight. It is also energizing, sharpens the mind and improves overall mental health and mood. Look out for an upcoming post with some great healthy breakfast ideas to add into your morning routine!

7. Get fresh air
We're lucky in Trinidad to have summery weather all year round. That means we can easily crack open the windows on a morning without freezing to death. Those who opted to take an outdoor work in number 5 above hit a double whammy with this one. This is another good way to help feel energized and sharper throughout the day, whilst cleansing the lungs and regulating your blood pressure.

8. Stick to a routine
As I mentioned in my first post, consistency is key. Sticking to a routine on the morning can help bring clarity and order to your morning, and you get to start your day doing something for yourself. This sets a positive tone for the rest of the day.

9. Don't rush
Rushing in general isn't very good. It increases stress levels and lowers productivity. Mornings shouldn't be a hectic part of the day. After all, we established it as the most important part of our house-building project and so it should be treated with care. As mentioned in number 2, aim to wake up at a time which allows you to comfortably complete your morning routine, and relax to prepare for your day, never the opposite!

10. Stay positive
Finally, always start your day with positivity. Negative thoughts are poisonous and actually manifest themselves as disease and toxins in our minds and bodies, and as we know, the goal is to achieve full-body health. Even if the morning doesn't start in the way we want it to: bad weather, hard day ahead at work...as always, choose to be happy.
